A permit for new construction has been issued for a property located at 1506 West Henderson Street in Lakeview East. The permit, which was applied for on June 18 and issued on July 23, allows for the construction of a three-story, two-unit residential building with a basement, private roof deck, first-floor rear covered deck, and a detached two-car garage with a roof deck.
The building will be self-certified by architect Helen Liptak. The total fee for the permit is $5,290, with $2,850 paid towards building fees, $1,500 towards zoning fees, and $940 towards other fees. The reported cost of the project is $750,000.
When complete, 1506 West Henderson Street will be located a short walk from CTA Stations servicing the Brown Line. It will also be steps from stops for a number of bus lines.

Boooo
Boo is right. Its absurdly common to add a third story to a two-flat just like this one. Unless the flawlessly maintained exterior is hiding a total interior disaster, I don’t even get how a brand new build makes economic sense at this property.
