The City of Chicago has issued a self-certification permit for the construction of a new four-story, six-dwelling unit masonry building with ground floor retail at 1628 North Damen Avenue in Bucktown. The permit, which was applied for on April 22 and issued on June 27, includes a second-floor front balcony and rear deck, as well as third and fourth-floor front and rear balconies.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $1,398,480, with permit fees totaling $12,805.42. This includes a building fee of $8,507.42, a zoning fee of $542, and other fees amounting to $3,756. All fees have been paid in full.
The owner of the property is 1624 Damen LLC. Self certified architect Helen Liptak drew up the project plans. When complete, the property will be a short walk from the Damen CTA Station, which services the Blue Line.
