The City of Chicago has issued permits for a new construction project at 4225 West Madison Street in West Garfield Park. The project, when complete, promises a mixed-use development that will combine commercial and residential spaces. According to the permit issued by the city, the masonry building will stand three-stories tall and span 8,844 square feet.
The ground floor of the building will house a commercial unit dedicated to animal services, including a boarding kennel, sales, and grooming. Above this commercial space, the development will feature eight dwelling units, each with front balconies. In addition, the project will include a canopy and five rear parking spaces. Plans were designed by architect Hemal Purohit with BLDG PROJECTS.
With a reported cost of $2.2 million, the development is being undertaken by property owner John Gardner. The total permit fees for the new construction project amount to $6,957, covering building, zoning, and other applicable charges.
When complete, 4225 West Madison Street will be located steps from stops for the 20 bus line. Beyond that, the property will be a short walk from the Pulaski CTA Station, which services the Green Line.
