Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 1119 W Newport Avenue, located near the center of Lake View. The owner, filed under 1121 W Newport LLC, is planning a masonry structure that will contain a total of three dwelling units. The project will also include a basement, a rooftop stairway enclosure, a rear open deck/porch, and a three-car garage.
Michael S. Cox will serve as the project architect and structural engineer. While no official renderings or drawings have been released, multiple masonry contractors suggest a brick or stone exterior.

The development site is currently occupied by a two-story frame residential building, located within a six-minute walk from Wrigley Field. The property is also within the vicinity of several transit options. Nearest CTA bus access for Route 22 includes a five-minute walk east to Clark & Roscoe. The 152 bus is also in close proximity, located a six-minute walk northeast to the Clark & Addison intersection.
The closest CTA L option is the Brown Line’s Southport station, a seven-minute walk southwest. The next closest station is the Red Line’s Addison station, an eight-minute walk northeast. Lastly, service for the Brown, Red, and Purple Lines are all available via Belmont station, an 11-minute walk southeast.
Greater Services, Inc is the general contractor for the $650,000 project. A full timeline has not yet been revealed.
