A renovation project is underway at 1845 W Garfield Boulevard in West Englewood, with a focus on de-converting the property from three dwelling units to two. The project was approved on December 12, following a 160-day review period.
Led by owner and general contractor Lilia Delgado, the $100,000 project aims to clear existing violations with the property and create a duplex by combining the first-floor unit with the basement. A key aspect of the renovation involves the removal and replacement of a rear two-story frame enclosed porch. The new porch will maintain the same size and location, enhancing the building’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Bartosz Rolski is listed as the architect for the project. Mendez Masonry is overseeing the masonry work. D.C.A. Quality Construction Co from Glenview, IL, will also contribute to the masonry work.
1845 W Garfield Boulevard is located steps from bus service for Route 55, an eight-minute walk to the east from stops for Routes 9 and X9, and a 14-minute walk to the west from stops for Routes 49 and X49.
