The tower crane can now be seen installed at 633 S LaSalle Street in South Loop. Spearheaded by The Collective, the upcoming 18-floor residential structure will be located where a surface parking lot once stood. This building will showcase a co-living concept, encompassing 117 apartment suites that accommodate a total of 381 residents.

Each suite is tailored for multiple occupants and offers private bedrooms complemented by shared communal areas. A sibgle monthly fee will encompass utilities, rent, furnishings, and linen provisions.

As far as amenities, the building will be equipped with co-working space, a fitness area on the rooftop, and an open-air terrace. Provisions have been made for bicycle storage, and vehicle parking spaces are available for six vehicles.

The approximately 230-foot design by FitzGerald Associates  is wrapped in two light and dark facade segments made up of textured concrete finishes, I-beam spandrels, and a mix of white and dark gray brickwork.

Besides adjacent bike routes, several bus lines including Routes 2, 6, 22, 24, 29, 36, 62, and 146 are within a five-minute walk. Additionally, the Blue Line at LaSalle station is a four-minute walk to the north, while the Red Line at Harrison station can be reached via a six-minute walk east.

Overseeing the project is Clark Construction as the general contractor. Current indicators point towards a potential completion timeframe between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.

  3. 6 parking spaces?! Heck yes. Time will tell if this concept of communal living will attract young folks of college age and entering the professional realm. I for one think it’s a great idea.

    This is a great infill in the South Loop. This looks like something NYC has going up all the time, but not so much here. Great design on the building too and always nice to see new residents added to the area. It would be great to see thousands more apartments and retail added in this area to not make it so sleepy.
