A new permit has been given the green light for a three-story, six-unit residential building at 1003 W 16th Street in Pilsen. The owner of the project is Parijat Sharma, while the architect of record is Design 21 Company. Currently the site is home to an overgrown vacant lot surrounded by metal fencing.
Burhani Design Architects is the design architect for this project. As of now, the building’s drawings and renderings are still in progress, though the permit filing has indicated a masonry exterior. In the rear of the property will be a masonry garage, though the number of parking spaces has not been revealed.
The site is also located near various transit options. Bus service can be found for Route 18 at the 18th Street & Sangamon intersection via a three-minute walk south. As far as rail service for future residents, access to the nearest Metra service is available at the Halsted Street station (whose entrance is a five-minute walk east), while the closest Pink Line service is available at 18th station via a 20-minute walk west.
The $1.85-million project will be constructed by Allric Ltd as the general contractor. A completion date has not yet been indicated.
