Construction permits have been issued for multiple sports-related projects at St. Ignatius College Prep, a private Jesuit Catholic school at 1003 W Roosevelt Road in the Near West Side. The project includes two new single-story dugouts and a two-story operations booth, all located on the baseball diamond at the school’s athletic fields. The address is 1003 W Roosevelt Road in the Near West Side neighborhood.
The architect of the project is Solomon Cordwell Buenz. The design features a modern aesthetic with metal cladding and large windows. The operations booth will provide space for coaches, announcers, scorekeepers and media personnel.
The project will not include any parking spaces, as the school has an existing parking lot nearby. The site is well-served by public transit, with several bus routes (7, 8, 9, X9, 12, 18, 60, 62) and the CTA L Blue Line’s UIC-Halsted station within walking distance.
The general contractor for the project is Burling Builders. The cost of the project is estimated at $350,000, while a completion date has not yet been indicated.
