A demolition permit was issued last week for a two-story, frame residence along with a detached frame garage located at 2518 W Wilson Avenue in the Lincoln Square neighborhood. The permit’s owner has been listed as Wilson View LLC.
Transportation is very accessible from the property site. The nearest access point is a three-minute walk east to the Western & Wilson stop where bus service for Route 49 can be boarded. The CTA L Brown Line can be found at either the Rockwell station via a four-minute walk west or the Western station via a six-minute walk east. There are numerous shops and restaurants along N Western Avenue.
Real View will be serving as the demolition contractor on this project. No further construction permits have been issued for this address.

I used to live just a few doors down from here until a few years ago. An Irish woman used to live here. She must have been well into her 80s. She knew everybody in the neighborhood and got me out of a parking ticket a good several times. She must have lived 50 years in that house. During summer, she would sit on the front porch, often with her friend who lived next door, and would wave as you walked by. She would stop you and talk about the neighborhood. Her neighbor moved into a nursing home and the two-flat was converted into a single family home. And while this house is nothing spectacular by the Lincoln Square of today, it was simple and solid and had history. Things change, and I’m sad to hear of this, and I hope whatever goes in honors this history of place in some small way.
