A permit was issued earlier this month for the new construction of a three-story multi-unit building at 6853 W Belmont Avenue in the Montclare neighborhood. The owner of the permits is listed as EP Belmonts LLC, and the current plans indicate this project will yield four dwelling units and a basement. Each floor will feature a rear steel porch and there are four parking spaces on the site. The building will replace part of a strip mall. YIMBY reported on a similar build located at 6853 W Belmont Avenue when permits were issued last month.
George Grazis is listed as the architect of record on the project. No drawings or renderings have been made public, however, plans indicate that this build will involve masonry contractors.
The closest bus service is Route 77 which can be found at the intersection of Belmont & New England directly across the street from the future property site. There are many popular restaurants and retail options along Belmont Avenue as well as nearby N Oak Park Avenue.
North Shore Housing is serving as the contractor on the $600,000 build. An anticipated completion date has not yet been determined for the project.

Sad to see this building go. Does no one care for the architectural legacy of the city anymore?
Thank you. A classic example of late 20th century Neo Strip Mall, just being torn down and discarded.
