Permits Issued for 1906 S Carpenter Street in Pilsen

Permits were issued earlier this month for a three-story residential building at 1906 S Carpenter Street in Lower West Side’s Pilsen neighborhood.

The narrow lot is located near the center of the neighborhood, by the intersection of N Carpenter Street and W 19th Street. Bus transit access includes a two-minute walk north to the 18th Street & Carpenter stop on route 18 and an eight-minute walk east to the Halsted & 18th Street stop for routes 8 and 62. Additionally, CTA L access includes a 17-minute walk northeast to Halsted Street station serviced by the Green Line, as well as a 19-minute walk west to the 18th Street station, serviced by the Pink Line.

Points of interest in proximity to the site include Dvorak (Anton) Park, a two-minute walk south. The 18th Street corridor is two minutes north and has a variety of commercial, retail, and dining options running both west and east.

The property’s owner and developer, RPFox and Associates, is planning two total units, as well as basement, a front wooden porch, and a rear metal porch. The architect of record is Radule Tepavcevic of RT Architect, Inc. While no renderings have been revealed, masonry contractor entries in the permit do indicate a brick or stone facade.

606 Design and Construction is serving as the general contractor for the $420,000 development. A completion date and construction timeline have not yet been indicated.
