Construction permits have been issued for a new place of worship at 2825 W Howard Street at the northern edge of West Ridge. Baruch Epstein of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois is the filing owner, whose planned development will rise two stories and will include a basement level. The new construction is set to replace a vacant lot, so no demolition permits will be needed.
Frederick Wilson of Morgante-Wilson Architects is the listed architect of record. No drawings or renderings have yet been revealed, and as of now it is unknown if the structure will be frame or masonry.
Bus transit for Routes 93, 97, and 215 can be found at the intersection of Howard & California/Dodge, located just paces east. Other bus lines within a 10-minute walk comprise of Route 206 further east and Route 11 to the west. No rail access for the CTA L or Metra is within close walking distance.
Chicago Custom Home Builders will construct the $3 million project. A full timeline has not yet been listed.
