Permits Issued for 6213 S St. Lawrence Avenue in West Woodlawn

Construction permits were recently issued for a two-story residential building at 6213 S St. Lawrence Avenue in West Woodlawn. The filing shows Greenline Development Inc as the listed owner of the project, which will come with two units, a basement, and a detached two-car garage. This new pair of structures will replace a formerly vacant grass plot that was zoned for RM-5.

John Hanna of Hanna Architects is the architect of record. No drawings or renderings have yet been revealed, and currently it is unclear if the design will be frame or masonry.

Nearby bus access includes east and westbound stops for Route 63 via a two-minute walk south to the intersection of 63rd Street & St. Lawrence. Additional service in the vicinity includes Routes 4 and 59 via a three-minute walk north to 61st Street & St. Lawrence. Meanwhile, residents looking to board Route 3 buses will have service slightly further west.

For those looking to board the CTA L, Green Line trains can be found at either King Drive or Cottage Grove station, located a seven-minute walk southwest and southeast, respectively. Metra is also within walking distance, with its 63rd Street station located a 24-minute walk east.

This latest development represents a growing number of townhome-scaled projects filling in the Washington Park and the University of Chicago campus areas.

Greenline Homes, LLC. is the general contractor for the $288,200 construction. A full timeline is not currently known.
