A permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to construct a new residential building at 2011 West Grand Avenue in West Town. The developer, named as 2011 W Grand JV LLC in the permit, applied to build on October 31 of this year. After a period of just 48 days, the permit came through on December 18 with a reported cost of $2,193,750.

The four-story, seven-unit building is a design by Hanna Architects. There is to be a roof deck and pergola atop the fourth floor, and office space included on the ground level. Four parking spaces on a concrete slab will be added on the alley at the rear of the property. No garage is called for, and the structure will not include a basement level. Grizzly Construction Advisors LLC will bear general contracting responsibilities.
The subject parcel is a long-vacant lot just west of the intersection with North Damen Avenue. It has been used for parking and storage, but has had no structural improvements at least for the past two decades.

Nearby transit options, via Google Maps
Residents of 2011 West Grand will live right next to CTA access via bus routes 50 and 65 on the corner of Grand and Damen. For rail travel, the brand new Damen Green Line elevated platform is about six blocks south, while the Western Avenue Metra station, with its access to MD-N, MD-W, and NCS trains, is just over half a mile west. The Damen or Grand bus lines can be used to connect to those two stations.
