Five new construction permits were issued by the City of Chicago on August 22 to begin foundation work for 35 townhomes comprising the RiverWard development in North Center. The five permits are all assigned to addresses on Oakdale Avenue, and all show application dates of April 8, 2025. ZSD Corp is both the developer and general contractor.
ZSD broke ground on the site last week as soon as permission came through. They also received the first full permit for RiverWard when 2233 Oakdale Avenue came through on Thursday the 28th, allowing for the complete construction of five of the townhomes. Each of the remaining four addresses has a corresponding permit pending in the Chicago Data Portal dated June 17.

Build it! I live one block from here and this will be a great addition to the area.
The owners around here are excited for new life in a long vacant lot.
Agreed – this looks bad ass. I’m sure there are reasons people can cite as to why it’s not good for the city, but I don’t see any.
