220 North Ada joined 1717 Michigan recently in removing a tower crane from Chicago’s construction landscape, as glass installation starts to creep higher up the building’s exterior.
The crane removal leaves both the West Loop and South Loop neighborhoods without tower cranes in the air. The city now has five of them active, with two in Hyde Park, one in Streeterville, one in Jackson Park, and the fifth in Woodlawn.

General contractor Clayco is working on the fourth level of glass on the 29-story residential tower. They are working towards having the 308-unit apartment tower open to residents early in 2026.
