Glass is in session at 5753 North Broadway, a residential development on the busiest thoroughfare in the Edgewater neighborhood. Windows are being installed on the west façade along Broadway; some for the outermost walls, and some for the covered balconies that line the front of the building. Moments Notice Services, the developer and general contractor here, is building a five-story structure with 42 dwelling units on the site.
The previous building, a single-story brick auto service shop, was demolished last year after receiving a demo permit on July 11 of 2023. Bridges Excavating handled the teardown. The new building will include a rooftop deck, the aforementioned balconies on floors two through five, and retail space on the ground floor. A parking garage with 21 spaces will also be included on the first floor. Hanna Architects designed the building.
Residents of 5753 North Broadway will find bus service for CTA Routes 36 and 84 right outside their door. Two Red Line platforms, one at Bryn Mawr and one at Thorndale, are located within roughly a quarter-mile walk to the south and to the north, respectively.

I am getting tired of these black gray bricks … which are also always too large with mortar that is not chosen to blend with the bricks. Looks cartoonish. And not in a fun way.
