Dom Acquisitions LLC has been issued a new permit for the construction of a new four-story, 14-unit residential building at 6521 South Blackstone Avenue in Woodlawn. The permit, issued on August 13, comes after a 189-day processing period that began with the application submission on February 6.
The new building will feature a six-vehicle garage on the first floor and eight exterior parking spaces on a concrete pad. The design includes a rooftop stair enclosure, elevator over-run, rear balconies, and front decks on the second, third, and fourth stories.
The permit fees for this project total $23,676.73, with $14,162.73 paid upfront and $8,764.00 in other fees. The reported cost of the construction is estimated at $2,910,150.00. The project’s architect is John Hanna.
When complete, 6521 South Blackstone Avenue will be steps from the 63rd Street Metra Station, which services the South Shore Line Train.

Move of this please, don’t be afraid to be aggressive with the density. Tired of all the wellness/job centers, and stupid urban gardens. If we don’t build them in the north, no reason to in the south when density and lack of businesses are huge reasons for crime and feeling unsafe.
Couldn’t agree more. All of the “job enrichment centers” and “recreational facilities” that a bunch of guilt-ridden wealthy philanthropists keep building on the south side are getting old. How many different places do youth need to play basketball?
Not only does there need to be more density, but more people who live in these communities need to buy up and develop the lots around them themselves, and get into the business of real estate. That’s how wealth building happens
