Foundation work is underway for a five-story, 50-unit residential building at 1440 W Fillmore Street in the Little Italy neighborhood. The property received its New Construction permit from the City of Chicago on May 15 of this year.
Designed by the architectural firm of Red Architects, the development will include an attached 25-space parking garage. Developer and general contractor duties are both being filled by 4Corners Real Estate of Plainfield, IL. The development replaces a surface parking lot. A rendering on the 4CC website shows a mostly brick exterior with large balconies looking out onto Fillmore Street.
Residents of 1440 W Fillmore Street will live within one block of stops for the Route 157 CTA bus. The Route 12 and 9/9 Express buses are within a three-block walk to the south. The Polk Pink Line station is approximately six blocks northwest.
