A permit for new construction has been issued by the City of Chicago for interior renovations and corrective work on an existing three-story, three-unit residential building located at 4419 South Mozart Street in Brighton Park. The permit was issued on October 3, and was issued on May 9.
The scope of work includes the removal of an un-permitted basement dwelling unit, the addition of a new front porch, and the installation of stairs from the second to the third story. The project also involves addressing existing violations and maintaining three unenclosed parking spaces on the property.
The total fee paid for the permit is $925, including $850 for the building fee and $75 for the zoning fee. The project is being led by owner Judith Salazar, and was designed by architect Thomas Montgomery. The planned cost of construction is $10,000.
4419 South Mozart Street is located steps from bus service for Route 94. It is a 25-minute walk from the Western CTA station, which services the Orange Line.
