The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit for a three-story precast concrete walk-up building at 542 West Elm Street in Near North Side. The project, which is being led by Parkside Phase III LP, will include six three-bedroom, two-bath units, along with parking, a dog park, and a playground.
The permit process took 578 days, with approval issued on May 28, 2024. The project has a reported cost of $4,700,000. Tyler Brown is the architect of record listed on permit filings.
When complete, 542 West Elm Street will be located a short walk from bus service for Routes 8 and 70. Beyond that, it will be a 13-minute walk from the Clark/Division CTA Station, which services the Red Line.
