A renovation permit has been issued for a two-story, two-dwelling unit building located at 2933 West Lexington Street in Lawndale. The permit, which was issued on April 22, allows for interior alterations, replacement of interior finishes, and upgrades to the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for the property.
The scope of work also includes the de-conversion of the basement and the replacement of the rear wood porch with an open porch of the same size, location, and configuration as the existing one. The reported cost of the renovation is $150,000.
The permit was issued under Chicago’s self-certification process, which allows licensed architects and structural engineers to certify that their plans comply with the Chicago Building Code. The Architect of Record for this project is listed as Bryan Hudson, who is based in Chicago.
2933 West Lexington Street is located a short walk from bus service for Routes 7 and 12. Beyond that, the Kedzie-Homan CTA Station, which services the Blue Line, is an 11-minute walk to the north-west from the property.
