The City of Chicago recently approved a renovation project at 5530 North Artesian Avenue, a three-story residential building in Budlong Woods. The project, which has a budget of $138,882, aims to enhance the existing building by adding a basement Accessory Dwelling Unit to the property. The addition will increase the building’s current configuration from three to four dwelling units.
Benjamin Kennedy, a Chicago-based architect, is in charge of the renovation’s design, ensuring that the new basement ADU integrates seamlessly with the building’s existing architectural style and complies with the city’s zoning and construction regulations. The general construction work is being managed by 4CC LLC, based in Plainfield, IL.
5530 North Artesian Avenue is located a short walk from bus service for Routes 11 and 49B. Beyond that, the Western CTA station, which services the Brown Line, is a 25-minute walk south of the property.
