A new construction permit has been issued for a three-story place of worship and study located at 3705 West Devon Avenue in North Park. The permit, which was issued to Kollel Zichron Eliyahu, was approved on April 19.
The new place of worship and study in North Park has been designed by local architect Laurence Booth. When complete, it will include 17 garage parking spaces and an additional 9 off-alley surface parking spaces. Beyond that, it plans to boast 24,859 square feet of interior space.
3705 West Devon Avenue will be a short walk from stops for the 11, 82, and 210 bus lines. Its total cost is expected to be $5,000,000, with various permit-related fees paid to the city totaling $27,006.20.

  1. I can’t help but think of all of the vacant places of worship across the City. They are a challenge to repurpose. Do we really want to add more?

There is already a place of worship at this location, and someone is simply expanding it to meet the growing needs of the local community. The fact that there are vacant places of worship on the other side of the city is of no use to the people who live within walking distance of 3705 West Devon Avenue.
