Construction permits have been issued for a new four-story masonry building at 3341 North Sheffield Avenue In Lakeview East. This new residential project, which is being led by 3339-41 Sheffield LLC, plans to offer eight dwelling units and has a budget of approximately $2,500,000.
The project plans to include a basement and a roof deck, along with four exterior parking spaces for future residents and their guests. Project plans were designed by local architect Michael Cox. McNea and Sons Construction Inc is the general contractor for the project, and will manage general construction activities as well as various project subcontractors.
3341 North Sheffield Avenue, when complete, will be located steps from stops for the 22 bus line. Beyond that, the Belmont CTA Station, which services the Brown, Red, and Purple Lines, will be a six minute walk to the south of the property.

That’s unfortunate. That’s a unique architectural design that appears to contain four units. If we are going to continue to permit the destruction of our architectural heritage, at least do it for a significantly higher unit count.
Hopefully, they are using the existing buildings and not demolishing them. I hate developers whose first instinct is to demolish and build cookie-cutter structures. Today’s developers have no creativity. All they care about is profits.
$2.5 million for 8 units seems a little low, considering there will be demolition costs too.
