A renovation project is underway at 747 South California Avenue in Lawndale, with the issuing of permits on January 25. The project, which has a budget of $90,000, aims to upgrade the existing office space on the building’s first floor and modernize two dwelling units in the building.
A key aspect of the renovation plan is the construction of a new wood deck, which will be built in the same size and location as the existing one.
The building’s listed owner is Madeline Boyd. Angelica Borromeo, the architect of record for the project, is overseeing its design. Robinson Construction Inc is the general contractor and will oversee the entire renovation process and ensure Chicago building codes are satisfied.
747 S California Avenue is located steps from bus service for Route 94 , with stops for Route 7 via a four-minute walk to the north of the property. Beyond that, the Western CTA Station, which services the Blue Line, is an 18-minute walk to the northeast of the property.
