The City of Chicago has issued a construction permit for a residential building at 3742 S Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Park Boulevard. Canaryville Homes LLC will oversee the development of the property, which is slated to house a three-story, two-unit residence with additional amenities. The permit forecasts a project completion date of November 3, 2023.
The structure, designed by architect John Hanna, will incorporate a basement, a rooftop deck and enclosure, as well as front-facing balconies on the upper floors. A detached two-vehicle garage featuring a rooftop deck is also included in the plan for the project. This permit is a product of the City’s Self-Certification Permit Program, which allows for a more efficient permitting process.
Eldorado General Construction has been appointed as the general contractor for the project. The investment in the new construction totals $1,086,390, with permit fees amounting to $4,655.00.
When complete, residents at the property will be steps from bus service for the Route 3 line, with stops for Route 39 line via a five-minute walk to the south and stops for Routes 4 and 35 via a seven-minute walk to the north. Beyond that, the CTA Indiana station, which services the Green Line, will be a 12-minute walk to the southwest from the property.
