A new construction permit has been issued for a 5-story medical office building at 4822 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Bronzeville. Northwestern Medicine is the listed owner of the development, which will replace a previously vacant lot.
The project’s architecture is being managed by Kapil Khanna. While the permit did not disclose specific design details, it did indicate the use of deep foundation auger cast piles and a full superstructure.
Regarding transit accessibility, the site is in proximity to several bus routes, the closest being Routes 38 and 4, accessible within a 10-minute walk. Although the permit did not specify parking provisions, the development is expected to offer convenient access to local public transportation, including nearby CTA L lines.
Ujamaa Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for this project, which has an estimated construction cost of $23,500,000. As of now, an estimated completion timeline is unknown.
