A construction permit has been granted for a new residential development located at 2824 W 63rd Street in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood. The project will be a two-story, mixed-use building, replacing a 4,141-square-foot vacant lot. The last known sale of the property was in 2002 for $50,000​​. The listed owner of the project is Ahmad Zahdan.

The architect of record for the project is Ghulam M. Kamal of Lucid Engineering Services Group. The development will house three retail spaces on the first floor and two dwelling units on the second floor. A new masonry trash enclosure and a fence are also part of the plans.

Parking will be provided by five new parking stalls. For transit accessibility, the location is a minute’s walk from the intersection of California & 63rd, which offers bus service for Routes 63 and 94.

The general contractor for the project is MCL Construction LLC, with the total construction cost listed to be $550,000. No anticipated project timeline is currently known
