A construction permit has been granted for a new residential development located at 2417 W Walton Street in West Town. The project will feature a three-story residential building with three dwelling units, replacing a mostly vacant lot with a small one-story masonry building on the site. The listed owner of the project is Nicholas Wrobel.
The architect for the project is Beata K. Klak, with the design incorporating a new 3-story metal rear porch with an opening on the first floor, a basement, roof access, new fencing, and a new three-vehicle concrete parking pad, based on the filing description.
Other nearby transit options include bus service for Route 49 via the intersection of Western & Iowa. Also within walking distance is the Metra’s Western Avenue station, which is a 14-minute walk south.
John-House Doctor Co is the general contractor, while construction is expected to cost $700,000. An official completion date is yet to be disclosed.
