New construction permits have been issued for a four-story residential building located at 2034 N Mohawk Street in Lincoln Park. The owner is listed as 2034 N Mohawk LLC. The scope of the project includes four stories and three total dwelling units. The building will have a basement, and the units will be outfitted with front balconies and rear decking. The roof will have its own deck and pergolas. A three-vehicle garage with its own deck will also be on the property site.

Christopher Boehm of 360 Design Studio is the architect of record. No drawings or renderings have yet been revealed, though it’s clear from the multiple masonry contractors that this design will heavily feature brick or stone design.

Future residents will find Route 37 at the Lincoln & Dickens/Cleveland stop via a three-minute walk to the northwest. Additional bus service can be found for Route 73 at Armitage & Larrabee via a three-minute walk south. Those looking to board the CTA L will find service for the Brown and Purple Lines at Armitage station via a 12-minute walk west.

Residents will have ample access to green spaces, including Bauler (Mathias) Park to the south, Oz Park to the northwest, and the sprawling Lincoln Park to the east. There are a number of retail and dining options within a 10-minute walk of the property site.

Cashel Development, LLC is the general contractor for the $1.12 million development. The completion date and general construction timeline have not yet been announced.

    I hope this doesn’t go through. 🙁

Or it’s just a full gut rehab like they did across the street

  2. Another senseless destruction

  3. Ridiculous destruction of a graystone! The insanity.

  4. This is absolutely mental. What do city officials think makes our neighborhoods unique? Another boring balcony box will replace this beautiful piece of history.

Is every home in Chicago designed by either Hanna or 360? We need more thoughtful and varying designs.

  5. City full of vacant lots and surface parking lots yet these developers continue to target these beautiful old homes for demolition!
