A permit was approved yesterday for a new three-story residential building at 1143 W Altgeld Street in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The owner is listed as 1143 W Altgeld LLC, and the current plans indicate this project will yield two total dwelling units. The structure will also have a basement, a private rooftop deck with pergolas, as well as a detached three-car garage. The development will replace a previous structure on the site.
Christopher Boehm of 360 Design Group LLC is listed as the architect of record. At the time of this writing, no drawings or renderings have been disclosed, however, plans suggest a masonry exterior.
The closest bus service available is Route 74 and can be found at Fullerton & Ashland via a three-minute walk south. The CTA Red, Brown, and Purple Lines can be accessed at the Fullerton station via a seven-minute walk southeast.
There is an abundance of retail and dining options steps away from the planned project along N Clybourn Avenue.
VDR Development Group LLC will act as the general contractor for the $750,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
