Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 1911 S Homan Avenue in North Lawndale. Oscar Tovar is the filing owner, whose plans include two total units, a rear open porch, and a two-car detached garage. The new structure will replace a currently vacant lot, which was previously occupied by a two-story residence damaged in a fire several years ago.

Oscar Alba of Architectonic Solutions is the architect of record. No drawings or renderings have yet been revealed, and it is unknown if the structure will be frame or masonry.

Nearest bus transit consists of northeast and southwest-bound stops for Route 157, which can be found at the Ogden & Homan intersection via a two-minute walk north. Meanwhile, residents will find service for Route 52 via a five-minute walk east to Kedzie & 19th Street. Lastly, Route 21 at the Cermak & Homan intersection is a six-minute walk south. For the CTA L, nearest Pink Line service is available at both Kedzie station and Central Park station, each a seven-minute walk from the property.

Parks in the vicinity include Shedd Park, Homan Playlot Park, and Park No. 519. The southwest corner of the 162-acre Douglass Park can be found slightly further to the northeast.

Alejandre Construction Inc is serving as general contractor for the $200,000 construction, whose completion date is not currently known.
