Multiple demolition permits have been issued for two adjacent properties at 917 and 919 S Aberdeen Street in Little Italy. MBZ Properties LLC is the listed owner, with previously issued permits outlining a three-story building with two apartment units for each lot. Parking for 919 S Aberdeen Street will include a concrete pad with two spaces, while the filing description for 917 S Aberdeen Street did not mention any on-site parking.
Ronald Vari of Vari Architects is the listed architect of record. No drawings or renderings have been revealed, and it is unclear if either structure will be frame or masonry.
Bus transit in the area can be found for Route 157 via a minute walk south to the intersection of Taylor & Aberdeen. Future residents will find other bus routes also within a 10-minute walk, including Route 60 to the west, Route 12 to the south, Route 8 to the east, and Route 7 to the northwest and northeast. CTA L transit includes Blue Line service via a 10-minute walk northeast to UIC-Halsted station, while the Pink Line can be found at Polk station via a 19-minute walk west.
All Concrete Chicago Inc. is the demolition contractor for the two existing frame residences (and detached garage on the southern 919 parcel). For the construction phase, WMBE Chicago LLC will serve as general contractor for both projects. Anticipated completion dates have not yet been revealed.
