The City of Chicago has issued a renovation permit for 7346 South Peoria Street in Englewood. The approval will allow the new owner, Stone Equity Inc of Arlington Heights, to rescue the home after purchasing it in September of last year for $50,000. They applied for the permit on January 9, and it was approved on April 11. It comes with a reported construction cost of $30,000.

The permit allows the complete overhaul of the two-unit structure. The two residences will get new layouts, and work will be done to replace MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems. Also noteworthy will be the excavation of the existing basement, effectively increasing the height of the house without raising the roofline. The enclosed front porch will be torn off, and a new wood porch and stairway will be added onto the rear of the building.

The home currently has neither a garage nor a parking pad at the rear of the property, and the renovation permit makes no mention of adding parking to the property. PNC Remodeling Inc. of Downers Grove is named as the general contractor. Eldante Winston, a designer practicing in Chicago and Manhattan, Kansas is named as the architect of record.
