The concrete foundation has been set for the a three-unit residential building at 1313 West Wrightwood Avenue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Drimnagh Development, as both the developer and general contractor, is building a four-story with basement condominium building here, having already demolished the frame house previously on the site.
Features of the new condos include large terraces at the front of the building on the first through third floors. The top unit will have its own private roof deck. A three-car garage at the rear of the property, accessed from a dog-legged alley that connects to both Wayne Avenue to the west and Aldine Street to the south, will also have a roof deck. 360 Design Studio is the architect of record; Drimnagh’s website shows they’ve created a pair of two-bedroom, two-bath units, as well as a single four-bedroom, three-bath home.
Residents of 1313 West Wrightwood will live within a two-block walk of the CTA Route 74 bus for east-west travel, and the Route 9 bus for north-south travel is about three blocks away. The nearest elevated train access is the Fullerton Red/Brown/Purple Line platform about six blocks west; the 74 bus can be used to transfer to the train.

The frame houses here weren’t architectural marvels so I’m a YIMBY for this project. Not super in love with the rendering, but it’s a step up from a blank box. They threw in some cornices and contrasting masonry elements; if you squint you can see Doric capitals. The major win is that in this very desirable neighborhood they tripled the housing density.
