The City of Chicago has issued a permit for a new construction project at 236 West 26th Street in South Loop. When complete, the mixed-use building will stand five stories tall and will contain six dwelling units, along with a ground floor retail space. Exterior features include a rear steel staircase, an elevator penthouse, and six parking spaces.
Construction is estimated to cost $1.6 million. Permit fees total $19,434.18, with $375 paid so far and $19,059.18 still owed by owner Phil Chen. Plans were designed architect Ronald Vari.
Transit nearby the property includes stops for the 24 and 44 bus lines.
