A new construction permit has been issued for a three-story plus basement multi-family residence at 1521 West 17th Street in Pilsen. The permit was issued on August 27, following a 40-day self-certification process that began on July 18.
The building will be constructed according to occupancy group R-5 and type V-A construction standards. Unit 1 will occupy the basement and 1st floor, unit 2 will be on the 2nd floor, and unit 3 will span the 3rd floor, roof deck, and roof access enclosure. The roof will feature a composite wood deck with a 42″ high parapet wall at the perimeter.
Additional features include a new treated wood front stair and deck, a three-story rear deck and stair, and a new three-stall parking area with treated wood guardrail on three sides. Plans were designed by Thomas Budzik.
The total fee for the permit is $3,627.00, with $375.00 paid and $3,252.00 unpaid. The reported cost of the project is $650,000.00.
