A permit for new construction has been issued for a property located at 4348 South Berkeley Avenue in Kenwood. The permit, which was applied for on April 25 and issued on July 26, allows for the erection of a new three-story apartment building with a basement, consisting of two dwelling units and one detached garage for two parking spaces located on the same lot.
The project will follow the 2019 Chicago Building Code. The building will include one front metal stair, one open exit exterior stair up to the roof deck, rear porches on the first, second, and third floors, a roof deck, a stair exit roof penthouse enclosure, and a roof deck on top of the garage with an exit stair. The property will also feature wood and metal fencing as per the plans.
The total fee for the permit is $3,462.09, with $2,447.09 paid towards building fees, $75 towards zoning fees, and $940 towards other fees. The reported cost of the project is $1,200,000. The owner of the property is Camron McGarity. They are working along architect Alexander Polichuk.
