A permit has been issued for renovation work at the three-story, four-unit brick building located at 4201 West Crystal Street in West Humboldt Park. The permit was issued on June 5 after a standard plan review that began on November 20, 2023.
The scope of work includes lintel replacement on the north and east elevations of the building, demolition of a carport, replacement of a roof canopy and rear metal gate, and repairs to a five-foot-tall wood fence. The reported cost of the renovations is $12,000. The architect behind the renovation’s design is Andy Kacprzynski.
Permit fees totaling $1,775 have been paid, including a $1,700 building permit fee and a $75 zoning fee. The property is steps from bus service for Route 70, and is approximately a 30-minute walk from the Grand/Cicero Metra Station, which services the MD West Line Train.
