A new construction permit has been issued for a 3-story, 2-unit residential building located at 1436 West School Street In Lakeview East. The permit, issued on April 23, is a self-certified permit under the 2019 Chicago Building Code.
The project will include the construction of a 3-story building with a basement, rear terrace at the 1st story, rear balcony with stair at the 2nd story, rear stair to the 3rd story, rooftop deck, and a rooftop stair enclosure. Additionally, a detached 3-car garage with a rooftop deck will be built as per the approved plans.
The permit lists EZMB LLC as both the owner and general contractor for the project. The reported cost of the project is $1,077,960.00, and the total fee paid for the permit is $5,290.00, which includes building fees, zoning fees, and other miscellaneous fees.
When complete, 1436 West School Street will be located a short walk from stops for the 9, X9, and 77 bus lines. Beyond that, the Southport CTA Station, which services the Brown Line, will be a short walk to the north-east of the property.
