A construction permit has been granted to GT Alternatives LLC for a new residential project at 1053 N Leamington Avenue in the Austin neighborhood. The two-story development will replace what is now a vacant lot and provide two residential units.
The architect for the project is Peter Sterniuk. The filing description does mention a front stair and a rear two-story wood deck, though drawings and renderings could not be found.
Parking provisions include a detached two-car garage and a separate outdoor parking space, providing three total spaces. The closest bus service includes Route 57, just one block west, while additional options for Route 70 are within a five-minute walk north.
GT Alternatives LLC, also the general contractor, oversees the construction with a budget of $250,000. The estimated completion date has yet to be disclosed.

Google shows a house at 1053. The vacant lot is 1055. Is the house being demolished (or recently demolished)?
Zoning map indicates 1055 is the white house (second lot south of Thomas St) and 1053 is the vacant lot. Permit records show a(n emergency) demolition permit issued in 2013 for the vacant lot (1053) along with a building permit, but clearly nothing was built.
