Exterior construction has concluded at 3501 N Halsted Street, a five-story mixed-use building in Lakeview East. The building will soon function as a central location for Howard Brown Health, a group dedicated to offering a broad spectrum of care for Chicago’s LGBTQ community.
The structure is set to feature a spacious 7,600-square-foot retail area on its ground floor. Medical clinics will occupy the first and second levels, while the remaining three floors will be dedicated to administrative operations. The completion of this endeavor means that Howard Brown Health can anticipate a two-fold increase in its ability to accommodate patients and visitors in the vicinity.
Architecturally, the design by Eckenhoff Saunders Architects showcases a glass curtain wall intermingled with varied hues of brick. Distinct vertical sections and a setback on the topmost floor, intended to make room for added features such as terraces, are also being integrated. The prominent multi-color signage for Howard Brown Health is also now illuminated on its north- and south-facing sides.
Direct bus service provided by Route 8 is conveniently located adjacent to the building. The nearest CTA Red Line station, Addison, is a seven-minute walk from the premises.
McHugh Construction has served as general contractor. The Health Center is expected to open September 1st of this year.

Great modern design that fits well in the neighborhood.
Mixed emotions on this one. The building turned out as nice if not nicer than the renders and does fit in well. However, its unfortunate they demolished several business/buildings while their existing location will sit vacant and put a drag (not pun intended) on the southern end of Halsted.
