Developer DLG Management has proposed a new eight-story mixed-use building that will replace a one-story residential building at 5035 N Sheridan Road in Uptown. The project is expected to yield 77 new residential units atop ground-level retail.
Though the architect’s name has not been mentioned, the exterior will be made up of multiple vertical bays, red brick cladding, and large floor-to-ceiling windows.
Parking will include 39 parking spaces within a ground-level garage, as well as 77 bike slots. Meanwhile, bus service for Route 151 is just a one-minute walk north and Routes 136, 146, and 147 are a two-minute walk north. Access to the CTA Red Line is also available in the vicinity via a six-minute walk south.
According to a recent article by Urbanize, the venture will now require a Lakeshore Protection Ordinance (LPO) approval from the Chicago Plan Commission. As of now, no completion timetable is currently known.

Very nice! Let it go through fast 🙏
Good to see a wholly brick facade. I wish they kept some of the art deco detailing from the original 1 story building on the site, but this looks like a nice addition to the neighborhood.
