Demolition permits were issued just yesterday for the removal of a frame two-story multi-unit building located at 2225 W Huron Street in the West Town neighborhood. The demo will also include a detached frame garage. All Concrete Chicago Inc will be acting as the demolition contractor on this project.
The permit owner is listed as SRD Holdings LLC, and though the permit has not yet been issued, zoning was approved in early March for a future build. Plans have indicated that the current construction will be replaced with a two-story single-family home with a basement, rooftop access, and a detached two-vehicle garage with its own rooftop deck.
The lot is in a very walkable neighborhood with name retail and dining options nearby. The property site is one block south of the Ukrainian National Museum. Bus service for Route 49 can be found at the Western & Huron stop via a four-minute walk west.
