Permits were issued yesterday for a new three-story residential building at West Town‘s 2614 W Chicago Avenue. The lot is currently occupied by a one-story commercial building. Margaret Murphy is listed as the owner and plans indicate that the scope of the project will include three total units, a basement level, a rooftop deck, and a detached three-car garage with its own rooftop deck.

Christopher Boehm of 360 Design Studio is the architect of record. As of now, no drawings or renderings have been posted, however, the filing’s two masonry contractors suggest the building will involve a brick exterior.

Future residents will find bus service for Route 66 at the intersection of Chicago & Rockwell, within a one-minute walk as the stop is situated just east of the site. The closest rail access is accessible at the Metra’s Western Avenue station via an 11-minute walk southeast.

Platinum Homes Development is the general contractor behind the reportedly $840,450 construction. Next door to the development site is another project at 2612 W Chicago Avenue, which received permits in August. The previously mentioned one-story commercial building currently occupies both sites and has been approved for demolition.
