Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 5667 W Higgins Avenue in Chicago’s Jefferson Park neighborhood.
The narrow site is located just south of Highway 90, bound by W Higgins Avenue and an unnamed alley. Nearby bus transit includes a one-minute walk west to route 88’s Higgins & Major stop. The next closest bus stop is a three-minute walk east to route 85’s Central & Higgins stop. For rail transit, the closest CTA L access includes a nine-minute walk east to Jefferson Park station, serviced by the Blue Line.
Other nearby points of interest include a Jewel Osco, a nine-minute walk southeast, as well as the recreation-filled Jefferson Thomas Park, a seven-minute walk southeast via W Higgins Avenue.
Westford Development is listed as the owner, and plans to include six apartments across the three floors. Additional features include a basement, front and rear porch space, and parking for six in a detached garage. Michael S Cox of Architectural Design Studio is listed as the architect of record. Cox’s design renderings have not yet been released.
Patrick O’Donnell of O’Donnell Builders is also listed as the general contractor for the $13.3 million project. A construction timeline has not yet been announced, though a groundbreaking date is likely imminent.
