Permits Issued for Greenhouse Addition at 10636 S Woodlawn Avenue in Pullman

Renovation permits have been issued for the addition of a new floor to an existing greenhouse and support building at 10636 S Woodlawn Avenue in Pullman. The 48,600-square-foot one-story addition will be constructed alongside the existing 100,000-square-foot structure, creating even further capacity for their leafy green production.

The owner of the property is Gotham Greens, a Queens-based developer focusing on urban agriculture. The facility was originally profiled by Curbed Chicago in 2019 following its opening.

The addition does not include any new parking spaces. As for nearby public transportation is the 111th St. (Pullman) Metra station, within a half-hour walk southwest.

Heitman Architects is behind the expansion design, while the general contractor will be Arco Murray. According to the newly issued permit, the total cost of the project has been reported as $1 million. An anticipated completion date is not yet known.

    This is very good news for the Green Eco Future of Chicago’s Southside! The production will dramatically increase healthy food access, good jobs and industrial zone promotion.
