A permit has been issued for a new construction project at 1536 West Chestnut Street in Noble Square. The permit was issued on June 24 through a self-certification process that took 243 days.
The project involves the construction of a three-story, two-dwelling unit building with a basement. The building will feature a rooftop deck, trellis, rooftop stair enclosure, rear porch with stairs at the 1st and 2nd stories, rear stair to the 3rd story, front terrace at the 1st story, and front deck at the 2nd and 3rd stories. A detached three-car garage with a rooftop deck will also be constructed.
The reported cost of the project is $1,007,900. Various fees were paid for the permit, including a $2,850 building fee and a $1,500 zoning fee, totaling $4,350. Plans were designed by John Hanna.
1536 West Chestnut Street is located a short walk from the Division CTA Station, which services the Blue Line.
