A new construction permit has been issued for a project at 2028 West Wabansia Avenue in West Town. The property, when complete, will be a two-dwelling unit, three-story building with a basement, roof deck, rear steel porch, and two-car frame garage with a roof deck.
Fees for the permit total $6,305, with $1,875 paid so far and $4,430 still unpaid. Plans were designed by self-certified architect Victor Drapszo. The owner is listed as 2028 W Wabansia LLC.
When complete, 2028 West Wabansia Avenue will be steps from the Damen CTA Station, which services the Blue Line. The reported cost of the project is $650,000.

That is definitely not in West Town.
According to the City of Chicago, it most definitely is the West Town Community Area. https://www.chicago.gov/dam/city/depts/doit/general/GIS/Chicago_Maps/Community_Areas/CA_WEST_TOWN.pdf
its…in the middle of Bucktown
Here is the city’s map of West Town. https://www.chicago.gov/dam/city/depts/doit/general/GIS/Chicago_Maps/Community_Areas/CA_WEST_TOWN.pdf
It includes the 2000 block of West Wabansia.
I also use this Tribune site for locations:

It shows the Wicker Park neighborhood, in the West Town Community Area.
I grew up in Bucktown. This area is Bucktown but it’s also referred to as Wicker Park or Bucktown Wicker Park. As far as the city government is concerned, Wicker Park is officially designated as “West Town” so this area can be considered West Town. but you’re right, most would call this Bucktown or Wicker Park
